A little historical perspective...
Two guys with an idea...
Brian Reeves - Producer & Engineer with an enviable track record.
Kevin Anderson - Musician with Admin chops.
Jungle Room has existed on it's current site since 1999.
But the story really starts in 1986. Brian Reeves was already established as the "go to" engineer for the Los Angeles based Giorgio Moroder scene that was thriving at the now defunct Oasis Studios on Lankershim Blvd. He was responsible for recording and mixing gold and platinum records and movie soundtracks. Brian's Mixing Website may be found here: http://www.brianreevesmixes.com
Highlights include working with Donna Summer, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Janet Jackson, Kenny Loggins, Pet Shop Boys, Elton John, Simple Minds, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals to name a few.
Into this thriving scene came Kevin Anderson, former performing keyboardist with various bands, now acting as "Technical Butler" to Harold Faltermeyer, Soundtrack Composer and Producer from Munich, Germany. Kevin's credits here: /kevinandersoncredits
Brian and Kevin found themselves working together on Beverly Hills Cop 2, Running Man and Tango & Cash in short order as well as working with the Pet Shop Boys in London in 1990 among other projects. In 1994 they decided to put together a writing room at Todd AO on the west side of Los Angeles and ended up adding musical bits to the movies Freeway, Major League 3 and indi favorite Trees Lounge.
Realizing they needed more room to record drums and bands, Kevin & Brian rented a building on Burbank Blvd in North Hollywood and started an ADAT studio called The Hideout. It was a great but small studio and in a couple years they realized that they would have to have a bigger facility to service their clients in the most professional environment possible. After looking at several sites in Burbank, the perfect spot was found in nearby Glendale. Now rebranded as Jungle Room Recording Studio and fully outfitted with a ProTools system as well as 2" analog and a 6'6" Yamaha Piano, Synthesizers and Hammond B-3 Organ, Jungle Room had been serving our clients faithfully for the last 18 years! All of this is now history. Times have changed and we had to react or go under. New Plan.....
Now comes Jungle Room 2.0 - 3 long term rental spaces for Producers in need. Our main Control Room/ Tracking Room has been rented to an upcoming producer. We are constructing another space on site and also have a small programming room that is occupied by Ben Soldate, one of Jungle Room's young gun engineers. We have partnered with Deep End Studios in Burbank so there are more rooms available for any job, big or small. And don't forget...
Jungle Room Stage - a perfect place for rehearsal, video, photography and webcasting. Whether you are a band, producer, songwriter, videographer, photographer or even actor or comedian, Jungle Room has the tools to help you!
Jeff Stone - Our "Lord of the Stage"
Besides being our in house live sound mixer on the Jungle Room Stage, Jeff is also a fully qualified studio engineer specializing in ProTools, microphone techniques, editing and mixing.
Dan Viafore -
Dan is a fully accredited independent engineer/producer who makes Jungle Room his home for various projects. He also does remote recording for Hollywood Records and is an on call engineer around Los Angeles with credits such as The Voice, Nathan Pacheco, and has even recorded at the legendary Air Studios in London.
Julian Beeston -
Los Angeles based English musician and sound designer, Julian Beeston, began his career as a drummer with the influential electronic group Nitzer Ebb. Achieving cult status in their own right, they also toured extensively with Depeche Mode, Jesus and Mary Chain and Sisters of Mercy where he gained invaluable experience not only on stage but also in his second home, the studio, where he learnt what all the fancy equipment did.
Moving on, he found a niche producing and remixing alongside production luminaries Flood, Giorgio Moroder, Keith Forsey, John Fryer, William Orbit and Martin Atkins with whom he worked on an array of mainstream artists' work. Credits include Billy Idol, Donna Summer and Bob Marley as well as more left field, edgy material with acts like KMFDM, Gravity Kills and Die Krupps to name but a few.
Always flirting with new aspects of sound, he is perhaps now as much a 'music designer' as a composer and his eclectic works have found their way on to recent Hollywood movies and blockbusting video games being used in soundtracks and trailers. His impressive repertoire has also seen placements on numerous TV shows both in the US and abroad.
Embracing sound design, audio-post production, location sound and ADR into his skill set, he has built a reputation for professionalism and quality, working within the video game and film industries with companies such as CapCom, Sony, EA, Disney and Warner Bros.
